On November 1, 1973, three Emeryville, CA white police gunned down Tyrone Guyton, a fourteen-year-old Black teenager from behind. The Oakland Black Panthers launched a major campaign to bring the killer cops to justice. I wrote a poem about it, entitled, “Emeryville 1973,” and they published it in the Panther newspaper.
